Joel Zuckerman

Joel is a longtime friend of the cause and attorney for parents with children abducted to foreign nations. He has spoken at several previous iStand conferences and frequently joins the Network for congressional advocacy rounds and other reform efforts.

Joel earned a B.S. (Counseling and Family Studies) from University of Rhode Island, 1992, and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Baltimore, 1995/ He was admitted to practice in the Courts of Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia,  and various Federal Courts, including the District Courts of Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia,  and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.  

His expertise includes training in Collaborative Law, and as a mediator; Member of the Bar Association of Montgomery County, Maryland and the Hague Convention Attorney Network. Recognized by Washingtonian Magazine as one of the area's "Top Lawyers"; speaker and lecturer on topics concerning international child custody and parental abduction, disability civil rights and mediation.

Mr. Zuckerman is also on the board of directors of Return US Home, Inc. (RUSH). RUSH is a 501(c)(3) corporation, the mission of which is to educate the public and public servants about Parental Child Abduction, both domestic and international, and remedies for prevention of Parental Child Abduction, and advocate for the enactment of laws designed to prevent Parent Child Abduction. RUSH supports families affected by Parental Child Abduction through research, education and advocacy."
